Speed limiter by Deakin.

I’m agree with Mr. J. Deakin, a motoring editor for a news publication, on his petition to install speed limiters on public buses after what happened on Don Mariano bus accident on Dec. 16, 2013 that killed 21 people including the driver who died after several days in hospital, and 24 others were injured. For this reason, Don Mariano’s seven certificates of public convenience covering a total of 78 buses were revoked and upon finality of the decision, their license plates would be destroyed and never reissued.

There is already a buses where has a speed limiter, but it can be bypassed by the driver, our car has too, the system is when the speed reach at 100 km/hrs it will make sound, that’s all. its remind me when I was riding a bus which has a speed limiter as we traveling in the express way I heard a beep-beep sound, I know it’s from the driver panel board when I look at it in his speedometer, he's running at 100 km/hours the why it sound but the driver didn’t mind it instead he step the gas for more speed, after minutes the sound gone, so, it useless.

The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) should really implement the speed limiter, a kind of limiter that the driver can’t control, or override it, the one that there is a speed restriction to prevent the machine exceeding the prescribed speed, like in other country,  speed limiters operate through electronic sensors and the engine computer. It works like this: A series of sensors detect how fast you're going, then communicate that information to the engine's computer, which manages nearly all the engine's functions. Once you reach a pre-determined top speed, the computer steps in and restrict the flow of air and fuel to the engine and even the sparks that cause combustion. So, whatever the driver do to increase his speed beyond the limit, he will fail, even the passenger comes late to their works.

Added by Mr. Deakin is the use of global positioning system trackers on buses, which would set off an alarm to a connected website if a bus exceeds the 80 kilometer-per-hour limit. Or speed prescribed by law. It good, it will monitor the buses and for the immediate apprehension of the drivers who disobey the law.

The LTFRB should implement this before another accident happen.
