Monetary Offering: Why we should Give Monetary Offering

Other people has been stumble of some practice of other Church, like, giving an offering of money in the Church, maybe because they have no enough money to give, instead of giving it as an offering, they use their money to the most important things for them, this system corrupted their mind and the cause is they didn’t go to Church anymore because they have no money to offer, they also feel ashamed that their brethren give an offering while they are not.

This question asked by some people, why we should give a monetary offering to Church?

In my views, giving an monetary offering is a obedience to the law of God and we should not neglect it, as it says "Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have for such sacrifices are pleasing to God" (Heb 13:16 RSV) its one way of sharing your blessing, it’s a command from God not from men, as other have been misled to believe, they thought that it was the command of the church leader. but bible clarify it, as it says  "each one must give as he has made up his mind, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver (2Cor 9:7 ESV) that‘s why we should give a monetary offering, like other Church do, they give it voluntary despite of the hardest of life financially, in following God Command, there is no exemption from officer down to members gives an offering, so, why we stumble, if we have a strong faith in God, we can do this without hesitation.

Even the life is financially hard, this should not become a hinder to perform our duty to God, it’s just a small amount of money compare to the life that God given to us every day, God who give us everything we should give it back to God too, Poverty is not reason to perform our duty, In the Bible the brethren showed how they followed God, “In the midst of a very severe trial, their overflowing joy and their extreme poverty welled up in rich generosity. (2Cor 8:2 NIV) they use their poverty to be rich in generosity.

This is pleasing to God if we do an offering in accordance to his will, "For the administration of this service not only supplieth the want of the saints, but is abundant also by many thanksgivings unto God; Whiles by the experiment of this ministration they glorify God for your professed subjection unto the gospel of Christ, and for [your] liberal distribution unto them, and unto all [men];" (2Cor 9:12-13)

Giving an offering also provide for the spiritual need of the member of the church, it help also to build more temple, house of worship for God.”Build the temple, that I may take pleasure in it and be glorified says the Lord" (Hag 1:8 NKJV) as well as it help also in the conversion of many people bringing them to the true faith.

Above all, in these good deeds we have an assurance for God eternal reward, "That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate; Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life." (1Tim 6:18-19 NKJV)

I’m not saying that we should give an offering for eternal reward but let’s give an offering to obey God‘s command.  We should not be stumble by this system, no one is urging us to give a monetary offering it is a voluntary according your will, and we should go to Church whatever happened, there is 7 days a week 6 days for our work and the 7th day should be to God.

In fact, why we should go to Church for the offering or for GOD?

The objective in going to Church is to seek, to build our relationship with God and others. We go to Church to fulfill an obligation through worshiping God and Praising Him; this is an encounter with God. Not going to church because you deserve a sleep-in or to do other work is not a reason why you miss Church or you have no money to offer. The problem is much deeper than that - it is a matter of selfishness.

Furthermore, you do not control your life. You cannot guarantee that you will be alive the next week, day, hour or moment. Human life is a gift from God and He controls the measure of it Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be”. (Psalm 139:16)

So, we should go to Church to fulfill our Obligation TO GOD.
