BUKLOD (Bond Together) is a group composed of a married man and woman in the Church of Christ, it was created on Dec. 15, 1962, celebrated every year, in every country, where there is a Church of Christ. It is very important event for the member that they can't let the celebration passed without them.
At the place, I was amazed of large number of crowds when we arrived, a brethren with their whole family from other place of the Philippines waiting outside of the Arena, we line up and stand in the entrance of the Theater Arena for 1 hour before we go in. waiting for the brethren to come out who watched before us.
It was 50th year Anniversary of Buklod, we celebrate it by showing a Musical Play with the title "Gintong Pangarap" (Golden Dreams) the story of christian family of Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church of Christ) play by brethren actors and actress, it was showed two times to accommodate the whole brethren in the city, we go early as two hour before the start because we expect the large number of people who will attend and we thought that there might be no sit at all if we come at exact time,
So it is, a huge of people enter the gate after the first batch came out, with the help of some security all the brethren got in peacefully.
It was not yet an experience because naturally if you come early you are willing to wait for a long time.
The experience is, the feeling of excitement when everything go on, I never felt this excitement before, I'm a simple man, i‘m not really minded party person, I'm a shy person, and silent type.
As the excitement goes, my wife are so excited, so i, excited too, even we have no enough budget we buy new dress, shoe etc, for the event. while i‘m looking my wife fitting a shoe, this words playing in my mind, "gosh! i have no allowance for the week", i was hesitate to get the money in my wallet, me too, when i buy for me, i feel regrets, but we still have to buy it for this a grand anniversary, we really want to joined in the celebration, its for our group and it just once a year.
We are really excited that we come to post our new dress in face book to show to our friend that we have a new dress for the celebration, in that, we got praise and complement from them, this is our first time so we fully prepared our self.
At the arena, we sat nearer to the stage, i though it just a simple movie or a theater musical, it make me cry. it is a Life of trials, faith, love, affirmation, prayer and success, how the family survive by trusting God. A true christian values and belief, who truly believed in God.
The movie started when the couple was didn't not yet know each other, in the year 1962, they meet in a singing contest, a man is fully prepared and is just waiting for the girl because he has already a house in preparation for his married life, a good quality of man to be a husband. they are both contestant in the contest. in the announcement of the winner all the contestant stand at the stage, the crowd can‘t hold their laughing. Me too! because the man are vividly looking at the girl, looking and looking while Announcing the winner, the girl so shy and blush can't look at him, she just smile, a very cute smile. they're both win in the contest, the man got first and the girl got second place.
As the movie go on. the man courted the girl. In the old day in the Philippine, if the man touched the hand of a woman he courted, the man must marry the woman even nothing happen to them, as in just touching, that was in 1962 but now a day so, liberated. so, it so happen that the man touched the hand of the girl and saw by the mother of the girl, the mother shouted, "hey! you must marry my daughter" they shock. huh!
As the story goes, they got married and have 4 child, sadly, trial come to them when their friend run away their money, that they shared for the business, and also their only money for their livelihood, the husband got anger with a closed fist, he want to sue their friend, but his wife comport him, they sing a prayer, asking God for help. with the 1000 voice choir as a background. The 1000 voice is a thousand choir member from all locale of Church of Christ participate in the event as background. so, touching, crowd/brethren have been silent, heart fully listening to the song, some are crying. me too. The couple didn't take revenge they let it to God, they trust God that they overcome the trial.
All the prayer and agony is in musical. a christian value has highly showed, story of a courtship, how to choose a good husband, that must be from Church of Christ too, forgiveness, when their younger daughter died, which is blamed it to their son who brought the younger to the outing, the young girl drowned in the river. their son left for abroad with tears blaming himself. how's the mother comport her son who have a child syndrome. their children go on their owned life, the husband and wife left only in the house, but in the end they got all together again, their 3 children with their family, their grandchildren, comeback to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary in surprise, the movie showed how the family survived in all trial in life by trusting God alone. I'm so blessed.
It's end with all the talent, actor actress come out one by one to introduce in the crowd, the crowd, a Buklod member applause and stand, what a overwhelming moment, the children hug their parent, a couple had kissed
and whispered the word of love to each other.
After the prayer we go home with a great experience happen in my life. if all the family live were the God is the foundation, maybe there‘s no broken home.
Until now while i write this experience of mine, i still felt the present of God who is Praise and put high in the Celebration.
