Common Illness during Wet Season and Prevention.

Wet or rainy season are getting closer, it starts by the month of June onward, rains comes together with flood and also a disease or sickness, because of climate change we can’t predict if it will rain or not, so, we must always prepare, parents should take extra care for the child, especially the younger in grade school who are most prone to sicknesses in time of this wet season, that’s why some private school proposed a August-September class opening instead of June-July to avoid the suffering from the rainy season.

For the meantime how we can avoid the disease and sickness as well as the problem bring by the rainy season.

What is the common illness during rainy season and a Precautions, Here is some simple tips.

Leptospirosis.
Common illness during the rainy season is leptospirosis, caused by wading in floodwater contaminated with rat urine. You can be contaminated by this especially if you had an open wound in your leg.  there is a long rubber boots in the market, there is a rubber boots that you can wear together with your shoes inside, its look like transparent plastic bag, it best if you don’t want to take out your shoes, it not hard like the regular rubber boots. You can fold it and put in your bag.
 
Parents keep your child from swimming in floodwater they will contaminate if they swallow the floodwater.

Dengue.
Dengue it is a mosquito bite, is an acute infectious viral disease that affect in infants and young children. This is a mosquito that breeds in clean but stagnant water. So we must clean out all possible breeding sites like empty cans, used tires and roof gutters,

Cold and flu.
Cold and flu are common illness that is found in rainy season and this is usually due to fluctuation in the temperature. We should always bring an umbrella or jacket like me; I had always an umbrella in my bag because there are times when weather would constantly change. So, if the rain falls, I’m ready. Always bring protective material. A raincoat with hooded jacket and waterproof shoes are the best items. Furthermore, get a shot of influenza vaccine.

Take Vitamin C, either in natural form or as food supplement will help you drive away the cold virus faster and will activate your antibodies and reduce the severity of cold.

Diarrhea.
Diarrhea, one of the common rainy-day diseases often caused by eating spoiled or contaminated foods, so always wash fruits and vegetables thoroughly to be safe. A delicious and healthy food is what makes rainy days a little warmer.

Shower immediately After Being Caught in Rain, taking a shower after you have been caught in rain will protect you from many infections and then take a hot drinks or soup, this will help you from catching cold and save you from any kind of infection that you maybe get due to sudden change in the temperature of the body.


Always keep yourself protected during the rainy season because of infection you can get frequently. It is better to take precautions and prepared whenever you go out of your home.
